tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3811296754727980243.post-31077563631318916442007-12-21T22:22:00.001+01:002007-12-21T22:22:16.604+01:00अध्याय ३ श्लोक ३८-३९ इच्छा एवं ज्ञानChapter 3: Verse 38-39 Subject: Desire and Wisdom विषय: इच्छा एवं ज्ञान धूमेनाव्रियते वह्निर्यथादर्शो मलेन च। यथोल्बेनावृतो गर्भस्तथा तेनेदमावृतम्॥३-३८॥   As fire is covered by smoke and a mirror by dirt; as the foetus is enveloped by the amnion, so is this (wisdom) obscured (covered) by that (desire). जिस प्रकार धुएं से अग्नि और मैल से दर्पण ढक जाता है तथा जिस प्रकार जेर से गर्भ ढंका रहता है, वैसे ही उस काम द्वारा यह ज्ञान ढका रहता है। ॥३८॥ Lesson: With the rise of desire one’s wisdom (discriminative power) becomes inactive. आवृतं ज्ञानमेतेन ज्ञानिनो नित्यवैरिणा। कामरूपेण कौन्तेय दुष्पूरेणानलेन च॥३-३९॥   O Kaunteya, the wisdom of the wise is also covered (enveloped) by this constant enemy in the form of desire which is insatiable, like fire. और हे अर्जुन (कौन्तेय)! इस अग्नि के समान कभी न पूर्ण होने वाले काम रूप ज्ञानियों के नित्य वैरी द्वारा मनुष्य का ज्ञान ढंका हुआ है। ॥३९॥ Lesson: Desire makes a wise man insatiable/unsatisfied by influencing his discriminating capacity.
