By covering (veiling) knowledge with the help of these (sense-organs, the mind, and the intellect) this one (desire) deludes the embodied being (the Self-in-dwelling). इन्द्रियां, मन और बुद्धि- ये सब इसके वासस्थान कहे जाते हैं। यह काम इन मन, बुद्धि और इन्द्रियों द्वारा ही ज्ञान को आच्छादित करके जीवात्मा को मोहित करता है। ॥४०॥ Lesson: Desire covers the wisdom and the Self of a person through senses, the mind and the intellect. ******************************************************************** Subject: Desire and Wisdom विषय: इच्छा एवं ज्ञान तस्मात्त्वमिन्द्रियाण्यादौ नियम्य भरतर्षभ। पाप्मानं प्रजहि ह्येनं ज्ञानविज्ञाननाशनम्॥३-४१॥   Therefore, O best of the Bharata’s, first by restraining sense-organs, you verily reject (renounce) this sinful (desire / kama=kamana), the destroyer of knowledge and wisdom (Self-Realisation). इसलिए हे अर्जुन! तू पहले इन्द्रियों को वश में करके इस ज्ञान और विज्ञान का नाश करने वाले महान पापी ’काम’ को अवश्य ही बलपूर्वक मार डाल। ॥४१॥ Lesson: Desire is the destroyer of knowledge and wisdom.
