अध्याय ३: श्लोक ३२-३३ स्वभाव-प्रकृति एवं कर्म

Chapter 3: Verse 32-33

ये त्वेतदभ्यसूयन्तो नानुतिष्ठन्ति मे मतम्।
सर्वज्ञानविमूढांस्तान्विद्धि नष्टानचेतसः॥३-३२॥


You consider all these foolish persons as doomed who are deluded about all sort of knowledge (rituals, outward practices or worldly knowledge).Carp at My this thought (teaching) and do not practice it (desire less actions).

Lesson: Doomed are those who do not practice desire less actions.

परन्तु जो मनुष्य मुझमें दोषारोपण करते हुए मेरे इस मत के अनुसार नहीं चलते हैं, उन मूर्खों को तू सम्पूर्ण ज्ञानों में मोहित और नष्ट हुए ही समझ। ॥३२॥

Subject: Temperament and Action

विषय: स्वभाव-प्रकृति एवं कर्म

सदृशं चेष्टते स्वस्याः प्रकृतेर्ज्ञानवानपि।
प्रकृतिं यान्ति भूतानि निग्रहः किं करिष्यति॥३-३३॥

 
While performing action, all creatures follow their nature/temperament (nature acquired from constituent qualities). The wise also act in accordance with their nature (although they are beyond hate and aversion). What repression / repressions and restraints can do?

Lesson: People act according to their nature (Constituent qualities).None can change its course. Even repressions and restraints fail to help.

सभी प्राणी प्रकृति को प्राप्त होते हैं अर्थात अपने स्वभाव के परवश हुए कर्म करते हैं। ज्ञानवान् भी अपनी प्रकृति के अनुसार चेष्टा करता है। फिर इसमें किसी का हठ क्या करेगा। ॥३३॥

अध्याय ३: श्लोक ३०-३१ निष्काम कर्म

Chapter 3: Verse 30-31

विषय: निष्काम कर्म

Subject: Desire-less Action


मयि सर्वाणि कर्माणि संन्यस्याध्यात्मचेतसा।
निराशीर्निर्ममो भूत्वा युध्यस्व विगतज्वरः॥३-३०॥


Dedicating all actions to Me, with the mind intent on the Self; devoid of hope (desire of future results), attachment (remembering ego-centric past actions) and anxiety (of unfavorable results) you fight.
Lesson: Fight against your present situations without carrying your past and future with no egoistic sense of doer ship, attachment and anxiety.

मुझ अन्तर्यामी परमात्मा में लगे हुए चित्त द्वारा सम्पूर्ण कर्मों को मुझमें अर्पण करके आशारहित, ममतारहित और सन्तापरहित होकर युध्द कर। ॥३०॥

ये मे मतमिदं नित्यमनुतिष्ठन्ति मानवाः।
श्रद्धावन्तोऽनसूयन्तो मुच्यन्ते तेऽपि कर्मभिः॥३-३१॥


Those who persistently practice My this teaching with full faith and without caviling, they are also liberated from actions (bondage of action).
Lesson: Perform desire less action, with full faith (intellectual conviction), for getting liberation from the bondage of actions.

जो कोई मनुष्य दोषदृष्टि से रहित और श्रध्दायुक्त होकर मेरे इस मत का सदा अनुसरण करते हैं, वे भी सम्पूर्ण कर्मों से छूट जाते हैं। ॥३१॥

अध्याय ३: श्लोक २६-२७ - कर्म और आधारभूत गुण

Chapter 3: Verse 26-27

न बुद्धिभेदं जनयेदज्ञानां कर्मसङ्गिनाम्।
जोषयेत्सर्वकर्माणि विद्वान्युक्तः समाचरन्॥३-२६॥


The wise should not confuse the mind of ignorant who are attached to fruits of action. He should engage them in all actions while performing his (own) duties well (inspire others by performing his own duties efficiently without attachment).

Lesson: A role model does not divert the mind of his followers from their devotion to action. Through his own examples of good accomplishments he however, guides them to act likewise.

परमात्मा के स्वरूप में अटल स्थित हुए ज्ञानी पुरुष को चाहिए कि वह शास्त्रविहित कर्मों में आसक्ति वाले अज्ञानियों बुध्दि में भ्रम अर्थात कर्मों में अश्रध्दा उत्पन्न न करे, किन्तु स्वयं शास्त्रविहित समस्त कर्म भलीभांति करता हुआ उनसे भी वैसे ही करवाए। ॥२६॥

Subject: Actions and Constituent Qualities

प्रकृतेः क्रियमाणानि गुणैः कर्माणि सर्वशः।
अहङ्कारविमूढात्मा कर्ताहमिति मन्यते॥२७॥


All actions are performed by (one’s) constituent qualities. Yet, the deluded (ego-centric) person thinks, “I am the doer”.

Lesson: Actions be deemed as born of nature and temperamental. The performer is just an instrument, not a doer. Having liberated from the ego of doing action, perform your duty with ease.

वास्तव में सम्पूर्ण कर्म सब प्रकार से प्रकृति के गुणों द्वारा किए जाते हैं, तो भी जिसका अन्त:करण अहंकार से मोहित हो रहा है, ऐसा अज्ञानी 'मैं कर्ता हूं ऐसा मानता है। ॥२७॥
